Visit to Veolia integrated waste management facility

Date: 24 March at 9.30 am.

A local resident has arranged another trip to the Veolia integrated recovery and treatment facility in Southwark.  The invitation is extended to members of RedFrog Association.

The materials recovery facility is one of the most advanced recycling facilities in Europe and is where recyclable materials are sorted prior to remanufacture.  Mechanical and biological processes are applied to the residual waste.

This is an opportunity to see exactly what happens to the recyclable materials put out for collection, and it will hopefully dispel doubts that people may have about recycling.

The free two-hour tour is scheduled for Friday 24 March at 9.30 am at 43 Devon Street, SE15 1AL in Peckham.  Places are available for up to 20 participants, although it is not open to those with pacemakers or to those who cannot deal with stairs unaided.

If you would like to reserve a place, please contact the organiser, Pascal, at:  pascal.dp@btinternet.com
